‘Dear Magical Dave, Fluffy and Marshmallow….
Truly Magical! I can not thank you enough for your wonderful show for our son’s 5th birthday! You were outstanding. No one could believe how good you were (and I won’t be surprised if you get some gigs from these moms!) Everyone is asking me where I found you!
I have never seen kids so completely engaged. You had them laughing from the second you started until the moment you ended! You just captured them and held them for a VERY long time. Bravo! The shows was silly and lively without being manic. You were warm without being saccharine, you never spoke down to the children yet definitely worked at there level. You brought them such joy! The birthday boy and his brother slept very well last night and I think there stomachs will ache for days from laughing so hard. All the children had a wonderful time and are all talking magic. I was proud to provide such quality entertainment. I would recommend you with enthusiasm to any potential clients — worth every penny!
In my experience with children’s entertainers, I have come across two kinds: the creepy ones who are weird, off or just a little strange, and the kind who are frustrated entertainer who never ‘made it’ with the adults so now entertain kids. These kind often make lots of inappropriate side jokes for the grown up, like they are just too cool. Yuck. And then there is the rare third type of entertainer — one with a genuine gift for understanding and engaging children. Someone who enjoys sharing his talents with others and genuinely has something to offer. You most definitely fall into the the third category! I think you mentioned that you are a teacher in the Bronx — if you bring half this energy to the class room you must be a fine educator. Those lucky kids on the Grand Concourse!
Sincerely,
Diane Greenwald
